Drug Wars

By VagrantGypsy

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

In a place where drugs are everything and money governs all There will never be an ‘us’ I’ve had my fill of pill poppers, syrup sippers, and acid addicts This dirty way of life we live disgusts me I know it will take more than a stab in the back for you to open your eyes, the way it did for me, Since you bare many scars And in a way I take pity on the nonstop mind trip you have the nerve to call your life YOUR LIFE!? How is it your life? It’s not your life; it’s someone else’s that you wander aimlessly through I know I can’t wake you up, and my throat is hoarse from constantly screaming: ‘The sun is rising... it’s coming...it’s coming’ Maybe you’ll be able to hear someone else But I am the only voice The sun is rising.... It’s coming.... It’s coming Written December 12th, 2001 © on Jan 19 2002 10:59 AM PST   18 • 0 • 10
