the breeze

Sometimes I think its time for me to flySpread my wings high above my headLeave this cocoon of misery for the nextUnsuspecting victimThe warm weather all around meThought it would dry my wings soI could leave this oppressing world of footNow I step out of my shoesCapable of seeing the whole viewThere I was crouched beneath my blanket of leavesHiding in the shadows the world has castExpecting for the warm breeze to dry my wings so I could flyFeeling choked by a self constructed cacoon ofLonging ,loneliness, and painNow I see, My eyes have been wrenched open, andIt's nothing new to me that I am my own worst enemyLying in the darkness my wings have grown noneShriveling, cracking, and torn from No exposeure to the sunAlways waiting for that warm breeze wafting by toMend my wings and carry me away Written May 8th, 2001 © on Sep 09 2001 05:30 AM PST   18 • 0 • 12
