Don't Wake Me
By VampireGirl
When you see me lying there, steal. And if you put your hand on my face and I feel cold, whisper softly wake up, And if I do not wake, let me sleep. If my skin looks pale, and my lips start to swell, Let me sleep. Don't check and see if I have a heartbeat. Don't put your head to my chest to see if you hear a breath. Don't wake me. If you think something's wrong, pull the covers upon me, And turn over and close your eyes, things will be alright. My heart couldn't touch or hold all this pain, your not the one to blame. At my funeral mention my name, and see if anyone remembers me. read a poem I wrote for this special moment. Don't cry, when I don't open my eyes, Don't pout, or be sad that my heart stopped. My soul floated out the window that I left open the night before. Don't think of any sad moments, or anything more! just turn over, and don't wake me. let me sleep in piece, kiss my lips, and let me be erased from this world, of cries. its normal for us to die. And it was my time, settle it in your mind, that I'm gone. Settle it in your heart that you'll always be mine. Let my breath weaken, and my body run out of time. But don't wake me.
