Love song of Chantilus

By Wesley Storer

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

(Sea gull's Love Dream) ( From the solitudes of Chantilus)The Westerly breezes blow freeThrough gently listing trees Over soothing glassy seas With soothing calming easeWhat secret  magics  do they hideHidden in mysterious gusting sighsTheir soft beseecing speaking Of tropical beach and blustery reefsDo their quiet lulls some spirit seekWith quiet interludes of silence pleadSome wanderluster its song to heedWould that carefree sprite be mineSailing sailing into rising sunsets From farthest West to farthest East Filling sails of romantic Portuguese Like stalwart wings of Northern geese Fill my sail with thy wailing trill A lonely princess we will thrillBy a mountain fiord her castle be About its palatial walls we'll regaleAround its lovely parapets we will sailSome comfort speak while kissing her cheek As lonely Jesu his lovely mother sweet With peaceful reassuring words Carry me away then Carry me away! To that wild and constant calling shore That upon my soul evermore implores! My gratitude will fill thy breathy sighs With I love yous through endless skies.
