Once upon a Dream

For Devie Once in the far ancient past In a Kingdom by stormy seas Poems of transcending love appeared Tendering young hearts in need Their healing essence lonely freed Joys of transforming creation Caressing readers with happy scenes Of Sunny climes and romantic dreams Life had begun again it seemed The King in his sovereign reign Dreamed of renaissance in his brain And he thought with lines so fair Some prince soothed his lady's care For love has a famous old saying love's flower blooms best in Spring The King ordered a search to be made Find their owner his orders conveyed All they found was an ugly old man Hiding in the New York City library Amusing himself with might have beens Yet He was so gentle and kind A key to the kingdom he did findThis poem is supposed to contain some of the free wheeling logic of Beat poetry, switching into alternate realities in mid stream, but I doubt it will make anyone laugh.
