Poem Introduction On the 3rd day of the Month of Dissus, in the year 9502, Scittyscut, the chief ruler of the Lazardarian Empire , issued the following offical historical statement: 'In the year 9398, a proud noble race of extraterrestrials from the Galaxy of Orion, (an Alien species averaging two feet in height) known as the Lizardarians, found and rehabilitated a dead, radioactive planet. They discovered ancient ruins, submerged in deep waters, wherein one of their mysterious caverns, the remains of a mysterious monster species were found, amid piles of dirty alabaster mounds, containing traces of calcium. Far above the numerous subterranean labyrinths, the remains of huge monoliths stood, thought by the Lizardarians to have been live in tombstones, in which the monsters, who apparently worshiped death and war, once dwelled. Who can explain the love one monster must have felt for another, unless itself be another monster. Long live Lizardaria, and the beautiful Lizardarians!!! The mountains all were bombed Dead trees leaning Eastward In the wild wind Autumn night Below rockety rickedy street lights Long since refusing to shine Dry dead leaves like little kites Danced their last dance of life The last Monster watched them swoop The Gods of doom had spoken And the monsters were all dead A nuclear conflagration Had destroyed the earth again It was the monster's last roam LIke the dead leaves he was all alone He watched the last carmine sunrise Grow from carnelian shades of gray As crystal trinkets of icy tears Fell from the skies of God.
