The Pilgrim Heart

By Wesley Storer

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

True love lonely love Faithful billowing breeze Sailing upon the Sea Poor little Mayflower Yearning to be free From vexing iniquities Setting the Pilgrims feet In a different land Where no royal courts With royal decrees Come to tax your home Make their God your own Away far distant shores To future firesides bright Winds listing their might Hearing the sound thereof From whence it comes to Where it goes no one knows But its name is wonderful This the pilgrims' believe From now to eternityI didn't get to sleep at all last night, so I lay on my bed writing this poem in my head. Maybe someone will like it as much as I did writing it. Bon Voyage!!! Written January 29th, 2002 © on Jan 29 2002 07:14 AM PST   0 • 12
