Patches on Angel's Wings
By wwjdmommy
When thinking of Christopher I picture him head held high, his chin thrust out, and that defiant look in his eyes. It is hard to imagine him as an angel. So full of life and mischief, his energy amazed us all. To sum him up 'He was all boy'. God gave him to us for such a short time. He came to Earth on Christmas Day and returned to Heaven at Easter when his seventh year was passing. He lived each day to it's fullest and he played by no one's rules but his own. So you can see how picturing him with angel's wings, was a little hard to do. I know he is in heaven, and his wings he did obtain. But I see the wings with patches from all the mischief he has made. Running full speed through heaven's streets, and even pulling other angel's feathers I can hear Granny calling after him, 'Don't slam heaven's screen door! This is the last time I'm going to tell yah!' Gabrial is rolling his eyes, St Peter's praying for patience, 'God what are we going to do with that boy?' So you see my dilemma, and understand my conclusion, There must be Angels with Patches on their wings. And one of them is Christopher! My nephew Christopher died over nine years ago. We all loved him dearly but as the preacher stated at his service 'he was all boy.' Say it shouldn't be done he would do it, say it couldn't be broken and he would break it. I see him having lots of fun waiting for us to join him in heaven. My Granny has her hands full I am sure. It took many years to distant myself enough so that I could write a piece for him and I think if he could read it he would like it. He wasn't about tears and fear. He was about LIFE and love. No boy ever loved his mother as much as this young man. I am sure he keeps a close watch on her from above. Thank you. Written October 20th, 2001 © on Oct 20 2001 09:06 AM PST 0 • 18 • 13
