At the end of the day

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

At the end of the day, I have you and you alone, I know that nothing else shall stand. I could build myself a palace, In my own perfect world, But I know that it would crumble in the end. If all I'm living for is you, Then I will not be disappointed, If I'm living for myself I'll end up empty. Nothing in this world, Can satisfy the way you do, But your love endures throughout eternity. I want you and you alone, More than anything else, Come and be the rock on which I stand. Build for yourself a kingdom, Of 'Jesus People' on this earth, Who together on your grace alone can stand. You are God, You are King, You are Lord of everything, You're the breath I breathe that gives life to my soul. You're my life, You're my strength, You are my perfect peace, You're my vision, You're my purpose, You're my goal. Written October 11th, 2001 © on Oct 10 2001 08:09 PM PST   10 • 0 • 13
