Good And Evil II

Benjamin December 9, 1989 “You will find him here.” The thickness of the fog did well in covering the two shadowy figures looming above the small highway. They had a clear view of the bridge passing over the valley, and the people standing at its center. One motioned to the other quickly, his arm quivering with excitement. “Is it him? Is that the savior?” “No.” The other figure stood still. There was a somber air about him, and a strange glow followed him. “You must wait, General. Be patient, he will come.” “Yes, yes, I know he will. But we’ve been at war for so long…” “Then one more minute should mean nothing to you. You will save your planet.” A gunshot rang in the distance, and one of the men on the bridge fell, dead. His massive frame echoed through the valley when he landed, rivaling the very sound of the bullet that killed him. An eerie silence followed as the rest of the bridge’s occupants prepared to flee the scene. “Was that him? You told me I wouldn’t miss it!” The first figure pointed at his counterpart sternly. He was shaking faster now. “If there is one thing I can say about you Solarians, you are all so excitable. I promised you a savior, and I will deliver. Do I look like the type that would destroy a deal?” The Solarian dropped his hands to his sides, exasperated. He shook his head slowly in response. “Good. Very well, here comes your savior.”Part II in the series... it's more of a prose... but I'm playing with the format to make it more poetic...
