Little Starfish

It was one year ago you came to me, cheerful, funny and helping me laugh All the qualities we search the world over for that special friend to have I, like others, saw something in you that we were grateful to have found Since then, we've shared much, most times a smile and sometimes a frown You were there for me when no one else was, and I for you You made me laugh many times, when cry is all I wanted to do I've come to love you in a way I never even thought I could Just talking with you gives me far more joy, than I ever knew it would Now that you're here, I find it unbearable thinking someday we may part Until the end of time, understand that you hold a special place in my heart On this, the very first anniversary of a friendship I hold in my soul as true, Please know....I'll stop feeling this way, only when forever is through I wrote this for a very special online friend that I feel I'm blessed to have come to know. She and I both felt a connection with each other from the very first minutes of meeting. Although we live our lives over half a continent away from each other, I sometimes feel that she's right next to me. I hope never to be without her. The title comes from the meaning of her beautiful name. I've attempted here, but I don't know if I can ever truly express what she is in my eyes.
