Could You?
By acidcrys
Could you blame me if I touched your face, and felt so much more than I could ever see... The faded ribbons falling from golden curls, as blood from a busted knee stains concrete rainbows. Could you blame me if I listened to your words, and couldn't hear anything but the beat of your heart... The cries forgotten bleeding from a child's soul, as a sung lullaby softly fades into an unending nightmare. Could you blame me if I yearned for your taste, and drowned in the need deeper than anything I've known... The absent love like thorns on a budding rose, pricking naive little fingers hidden behind worn leather gloves. Could you blame me if my mind filled with doubt, and my heart ached with pain as I decided to walk away... The stitchs torn open, a wound growing larger, and a scar never healed. I won't let them.its been a while. I guess the poem is showing how things in my past, and my unwilling to let them go- affect my life now.. my choices now. Feeling so.. so close.. yet walking away because of fear of mistakes. Written January 13th, 2002 © on Jan 13 2002 05:57 AM PST 18 • 0 • 1
