Love's Path
By bdgrey
Ten years had past since I'd seen you last. So when my wife and I ran into you, I reminisced of our love when it was new. You were the one I would love till death, even after my final, deciding breath. All the emotions came to me, including the day I bent down on one knee. I proposed to you that night, under the guidance of moonlight, and you simply replied "yes". A decision, though careless, would lead us further in life, as you were meant to be my wife. I had spent countless nights praying that you would spend your life next to me laying. I loved you with all my heart, pleading to God to not let us part. Now I see you after so long, knowing our love is not quite gone. I look at you as time stands still, knowing of God's divine and ubiquitous will. Then I look at my wife and I have no doubt, for she is the one I can't live without. Thank you God, for ignoring me then, for only now does my life truly begin. An unanswered prayer is not necessarily a punishment or overlook. Sometimes they can be the greatest gift of all. Don't give up, because all roads lead somewhere. Some are just better than others. Written October 14th, 2001 © on Oct 13 2001 05:06 PM PST 17 • 0 • 8
