Standing at the Crossroads

By bdgrey

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

So what do the crossroads of life look like?I only ask for there I stand. There is far more than just two choices, for dozens haunt my every move.I can't go back and change my life, and right ahead like branches of a tree, lay paths of greatest uncertainty. All I see is a dense fogshrouding all resolutions of the choices I make.Where do I turn?Which path is the bestto reach my desired destination? The future I hold  is within the tips of my fingers, and only one leads to the futureI see in my most vivid dreams.Should I move north to the clearest of skies?Or should I stay put to vanquish the lies?I know what I want which is a good start, yet perils and failures veil what is forthecoming.I must undoubtedly learn from my mistakes, for they are the foundation of what's to be great.Longing I stand, at the brink of a decisive situation, that holds my future in one of two solutions. Will I be great beyond all expectation,or shall I remain unknown to many great nations? So here I am, at my own crossroads, where I have made a choice, that determines what's imminent. So now you see me,but will you see me again? All I know is that should I arrive,a complete name will accompany, that is perfectly mine. And then I'll forever remain,in public eye.I've made the decision to move to Colorado, and I hope that I can become what I want to become there. My whole life has revolved around writing, and it's in that way that I hope to live. I guess we'll see. Written November 25th, 2001 © on Nov 24 2001 04:18 PM PST   0 • 12
