The End of Life
By bdgrey
The cancer thickens in your blood, for you are dying in merciless style. Our world is now filled with darkened mud, as you begin walking the longest mile. Your breath becomes noiseless, and your face oh so pale. My throat has become voiceless, as I begin to wail. You struggle to smile, as more tears push through. For this is truly a trial, as each fleeting moment, is one less with you. I hold you with all the love that I can, and desperately pray for one guiding hand. I see in your eyes that the time is near. I will soon lose what I hold dear. You look up with tears in your eyes, smiling once more my only reply. I bend down for one last kiss, feeling your lips becoming lifeless. "I love you" I say through choking sobs. "I love you" you mouth as your head nods. This is the end, and she dies,... in my arms. This is my greatest fear. I pray every night that my love won't die. That is why I live every day as if it were our last. Don't take anything for granted. Please don't take anything for granted. I love you Angie.
