To Be Gone....
By bdgrey
Bags lay open awaiting their fill, as she moves about restlessly not sure what went wrong. He smokes his cigarette outside beneath the stars, and sits helplessly unsure of his life. Feeling so trapped, she has nowhere to turn, so in desperation she made the decision. If there were another heart out there, then he wouldn't be alone. She's been here too few years- to be gone. And he always showed his love, but in the end it wasn't enough. All he can do is just watch, as she walks out the door. One fair goodbye, and it's over. She drives out West, with no destination in sight. Tears long ago run dry, as she ignores what's inside. For there must be something new, and she must find herself. He sits on the porch looking down the road, in hopes of seeing a cloud of moving dust. Yet day after day, nothing has changed, and the butts piled high, as he looks to the sky. He's been here too few years- to be lost. And she always looked with those big blue eyes, as if nothing was wrong and no dead lies. The future was seen as something complete, yet now everything is dark. Nowhere to turn he closes his eyes, and dreams. A year has gone by with everything changed, yet she cannot deny what's in her heart. For she knows their love is true, and their souls shall never part. She's been gone far too long, her love still so strong. So she goes.... The love within his heart, has never forgotten her grace. The ash tray is now empty, and collects dust in space. The porch light still on every night in hope, that one day she'll return. He's been there far too long, alone without her touch, so he packs his bags and goes.... Their love is far too strong, as magnets by design. They will find each other, and live the rest of time, together side by side. Their love is far too strong to be gone...."Love prevails through tests of time, and uncertainty. Sometimes all that is needed is a little space, for fate has a plan, and if it is meant to be, then it will be." Bryan Written April 16th, 2002 © on Apr 15 2002 06:15 PM PST 0 • 8
