Snow Day
I woke up this morning with a whine and a frown My feet frozen to the floor the second I put them down From the window in my room, I could see the glistening white snow I threw on my robe and scrambled down the stairs to get a closer look At this glory below Stomping the snow off my feet, a shower I took Then I stuck my clothes in the dryer, though the dryer soon shook For I had neglected to remember one simple thing: In order to dry something, it needs to be warm And the dryer (made in 1980) does not work like spring Giving up on the dryer, I turned on my radio, hoping to hear about this winter storm Looking out the window, I could see the tiny flakes continuing to form Timothy Christian, Benet Academy, all religious schools Then telephone rang, an anwer to my dream A voice recording from my beloved school School was cancelled, so it seemed A million thoughts raced through my head Could this be true? Was the school day truely dead? Yes, I was sure, today was today And all I can say is HAPPY SNOW DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!My pathetic attempt at a total rhyming poem.....we get the day off today........*celibrates*.....the only thing is, though, that my mother is a teacher and she has the day off also........hmm........maybe I'll go sledding.......
