A Token to all of you

By Beyond Zion

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

We pass away locking ourselves behind fear. Even though we all sit under the same sky and wish on the same stars, we are affraid to speak. Those strangers in the rooms we occupy, or the faces we pass in the hall at school. We never realize why we shun eachother, it's just part of what we have become. I became my dad. I try to pass the time locked in my room, but I hear the sound of possibility all around. It keeps me awake. I never intended it to be this way. However, it has evolved and I have remained stagnent. Tied to fear. I have seen death, I have faced fears, I have become me through all this. But my strength lies not in myself, but in the knowledge I posses. You must not allow those chains to keep you hidden from the world. All of us are the same, though are names are different, we are all one. The point I am making here is simple: I have always been skeptical of myself and of my surroundings. But the elements that comprise the collage that is my spirit have evolved beyond fear and self loathing. I want you all to know that we have the strength to be great, no one is born to a finite destiny. We are infinte beings of endless possibilities blessed with individuality. Love yourselves for who you are and not for what the world wants you to be. You are your own rainbow. Peace and Knowledge-Zion Written April 5th, 2002 © on Apr 05 2002 10:25 AM PST   0 • 10
