Lost (part 3 the end)
By Beyond Zion
On the approach, A harmless vision of chaos emerges. The footsteps pause. The echo is silenced. And I stand amidst a cluttered, frightened mind. And what of my silent stalker? He grabs my shoulder and whispers: "I am affraid of god, help me." I see nothing in him, not a soul, not a heart, not a conscious thought. It becomes darker some how, the shadows surround us. They seem to be fornicating against the pavement. "I don't know your god, I only know mine." My reply was strength, it was my own. He sighs softly into the breeze, and the shadows withdraw. He bestoes a kiss upon my forehead and says: "True knowledge is to not seek the unseen, but to follow it." My arms shivered and my eyes swelled. Has this stranger shone light into an abyss? He continues: "Thus is the quest for faith, it a quest for the frightened." I blinked away a tear and he was gone. The sun tore threw the trees in the park, and I was left with my strangers words, pondering greater things... Authors Note: I never remebered being given a choice in faith. Until I was older, I realized what faith was. It's not god, it's yourself. Believe in yourself. Much Love to you all, -Zion Written March 19th, 2002 © on Mar 19 2002 12:28 AM PST 0 • 10
