A poem about dolphins, or maybe Nirvana

By BigDaddi

I have an Alpine 3 disc changer In the deck Two amps and Two 12’s in The trunk And all my neighbors Know when I’m Within a block of My house Because I don’t Listen to music I experience it My car stereo Rattles every piece Of plastic in my car And today I drove Home with the Radio on mute So I could be Alone with my Thoughts Just me and My thoughts and Wind blowing in The windows then Out again I was waiting for That one brilliant Thought And I didn’t want The radio to Drown it out I realized I think Way too much About video games And sports And my children And women And every mundane thing In this world My restless mind Won’t let that one Brilliant thought Into the congested Thought Queue Maybe I have no Brilliant thoughts Maybe dolphins have them And we are too busy Making food chains and Putting ourselves on top To open up our minds to their Telepathic broadcast of All the universe’s secrets Or maybe they sit around Making fun of us Dumb simple creatures And that’s why they Always laugh when they see us Eh-Eh-Eh-Eh-Eh indeed I was alone With my thoughts and I realized that if I Said everything I thought Out loud Even I wouldn’t Hang out with my Crazy ass I drove and listened To the wind blow In and out the windows And for a moment there It was quiet My thoughts stopped I just listened to The air moving around me And at that moment I had the most Brilliant thought I’ve ever had I am at my most Brilliant When I stop thinking Love and lightMy latest poem Written October 24th, 2001 © on Oct 24 2001 12:44 PM PST   0 • 13
