The rhythm of the universe

By BigDaddi

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

There’s a hum that fills the gap between Thoughts and silence God whispering softly in your ear It’s hangs there on the air In the air As the air Dancing slowly through your body like wine Warming the spirit and letting all else loose Eyes closed and mind empty The hum is there Composing it’s masterpiece The heart comes in first Giving the symphony it’s pulse A smooth rhythm slowing every second The hum reigns the hearts recklessness in Restoring order Then the lungs come in from the back Breathing life in to stillness Pushing and pulling the melody along To and fro but always in the same place Soon the body vibrates and pulsates along Dancing with the hearts steady pace Always calm Cellular peace in A minor It’s the hum that ties it all together The ribbon round the package of creation A breadcrumb trail back to the source Beckoning the listener to let go There is no listener In the web of activity and motion It looms ever present Unrecognized but unrelenting Always there Drowning in ignorance It plays on softly like God’s harp Or Divine Mother’s voice Calling her children home It’s there at the edge of thought A doorway to the other side Listen with your ears and you’ll miss it A lost child wandering aimlessly in the Dessert of cognition This hum lies beyond the mire of perception It is in the illusion but not of it But then nothing really is There is a hum that hangs there on the edge of enlightenment Pervading all things Directing all things Holding the universe together It is the sound of love Low and soft Steady and constant Often unacknowledged and ignored Yet always there Written April 16th, 2002 © on Apr 15 2002 04:22 PM PST   10 • 0 • 13
