Whitewash - Antarctica
By BlaZe
The uninhabited continent - As white as ignorant of mankind. Desolate and deserted, Isolated and immense. The white washed plains Symbolise its innocence to human endeavor - To conquer nature, To destroy its beauty. The uncovered rocks shield a sole civilization - Amongst the stormy seas And formidable frozen mountains, Secluded from a world of chaos. The only of the seven continents Where nature rules supreme. Mans evil hand has not yet reached out To destroy its splendor. The wild environment however does not effect the keen Aussies, Who still play cricket on the ice sheets, Wearing nothing but their long white pants and white long sleeve shirts, All in white and one with the land.I was lucky enough to win a free trip last year to fly around Antarctica in a jumbo and look down on its beauty...a long flight obviously but a wonderful experience...That cricket story is one we were told on the flight about some crazy scientist who would insist on wearing minimal clothing when playing their annual cricket match i.e. cricket whites.
