Puppy
Through the empty window, i see a little puppy. Cold and wet. Skin and bones. I bring him in to my nice warm home. I give him milk, a bed, a blanket. I made the blanket from the finest silk. Purple and blue. With green and silver. He stares at me as if to say thank you. I stare back and think how we're the same. Cold and alone. Shunned to the rain. I'm all alone. So is he. I pick him up and craddle him in my arms. Kiss his wet nose, and he licks mine. He's so sweet and so loving. I wonder what would have happened if I had left him? I make those thoughts leave my head go to my room and get ready for bed. I pull Puppy close and shut my eyes. To wake in the morning With Puppy and the sun rise.the very end line. "To wake in the morning With Puppy and the sun rise." kind of explains that he filled my life with light and that i had never really had much to live for. if u can understand that. most of my poems you have to read between the lines.
