The Escape Engine

By Bobtilton

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Broken from orbit and not returning, Stupified satellite, brighter burning. The view was so blue for so long, now your a sinking shell in an inkwell. Kind of a calming feeling, free fall, losing the will to make distress calls, forgetting you're falling, and feeling your blood slow down. Who could tell? Make the ending as good as the show - burn as you go. No connection, no mission control. And the air is thinning, and inertia's winning. The code that we spoke in, is broken beyond repair... and I don't care. Spin into the black, or plummet burning to the sea, but either way I won't believe a word you send to me.
