A Fool, Still Missing You
By bonnie blue
Call me a fool, for I still miss you; Touching your heart Filled mine with such joy… Now, more than a corner of it Lies empty and aching, Occupied only by lonely tears. Perhaps I should not miss you so--- You probably have someone new To while away the hours with, Someone who excites you, Much more than I could--- Or who is less real and human, With lesser scars than mine. I surely cannot blame you For your reluctance to get closer; You feared my flame, And perhaps rightly so… Nothing I can say about it Will convince you That I would never let it burn you, Far from it…you came very close To taming it, in fact, Before you turned away. Now my wanting feeds it yet again. And it still burns so within me. And oh…how I do still miss you. Bonnie Cook 6-Apr-02 Written April 6th, 2002 © on Apr 06 2002 06:54 AM PST 18 • 0 • 1
