another one of lifes most beautiful moments...

By Brinneall

It's one of those absolutely gorgeousfall days, when the weather is still warm, sun shining down through the trees, turning orangeand yellow and red, shedding theirleaves like inhibitions upon the groundand me,walking down the sidewalk in front of the church, strucksuddenly by the magnetism in the air as the wind picks up and something catches my attention in the corner of my eye.I look to my left and stopdead in my tracks. The wind had picked up a few leaves and, like a mini-tornadosent them flying in an upward spiral. As I watched, the leaves no longer flew, but danced, picking up, taking hands with other leavessoaring and dancing together in beautifulharmony, I can almost hear the musicin my head, not noticing the busy studentsshuffling past me,too hurried to stop and noticethis perfect moment. The leaves dance higher in the air, climbing the walls of the church, and suddenly the wind stops, and they all fall, crashing back to the ground.  I inhale, taking in the electric airand continue walking, another one of lifes most beautiful momentspassing,    just passing me by.-Jada Marie Andrews © on Aug 26 2001 10:14 AM PST   0 • 12
