Job Offer From A Vampire

By Buzby

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Just like an owl I come alive at night preferring to hunt by the moon's pale light swift and deadly when I target my prey a swoop, a kill and then up and away. I tear at warm flesh, then savour hot blood as I bite at the neck of some feisty young stud, in pubs and clubs my victims are found two-a-penny men are thick on the ground. A vampire’s banquet, a feast for a queen so easy to enter the modern club scene. No need for talons, a net or a hook I capture my meals with only a look. A parting of lips and a shuddery sigh are all that I need to catch a man’s eye. An offer of dance, a small glass of wine, maybe you’d like to come back to mine? Then when we’re alone the feasting can start the way to my stomach is via his heart! At first they’re turned on, all men are the same thinking I’m playing some kinky new game then real life kicks in as fangs start to bite heart pumping faster as prey starts to fight. A vampire’s lot is a most happy one out late at night, drinking blood, having fun much better than sex so much more of a high, better than drugs, why not give it a try? life everlasting, now what do you say we can party all night and sleep through the day Become one with me, it’s your fate to seal but if you decline, then become my next meal.
