A Glimmer of Hope (Honorable Mention)
By catz
When all the world seems against us And everything seems to go awry We ask ourselves, “What’s going on What’s happening with me…why?” Just when we think things are going good And we’re finally getting it all together Along comes someone or something Raining on our progress, crappy weather The gloom sets in, the storm clouds gather Can’t find cover, there seems nowhere to run But then something reminds us Behind each cloud shines the sun Of course we know it’s not over yet We still have a long way to go But a glimmer of hope shines through It has to get better, somehow we know When it’s finally all over and done When everything starts to fall into place Then we know that little glimmer of hope That shines, is coming from God’s grace He takes care of us, He promised he would He’ll never leave us alone, watches from above All he asks is our undying faith And a place in our hearts for love So whenever all you have seems lost And you’re feeling alone and blue Just say a prayer within your heart “Please, God, help me see this through' “Help me see that glimmer of hope Show me the way, I’ll try once more I’ll do my best to keep the faith I know you wont shut the door” For a glimmer of hope is all we need To remind us of his love He’ll show us the way, guide us through life As he watches over us from above By Dee Garner For my son Stephen January 15, 2001Written January 15th, 2001 A poem written for my son, Stephen when he was going through an expecially hard time.
