Two Little Girls

Two Little Girls Two little girls dressed in yellow pinafores Playing happily at Mama's feet Always in the way as she goes about her chores Their energy boundless, their laughter so sweet But she doesn't seem to mind so much She stops her work for awhile It does her heart good, you see To hear their laughter, to see each smile The twinkle in her eyes reflects the glow within her heart If only they could stay this way To never know the pain of the world Or the stress she feels each day My sister and I were once like this, she thought No cares, no tears, no sorrow My two little girls can stay like this Happy and carefree forever, at least until the morrow Dee Garner November 26, 2000This is about my sis and me, our mother used to always dress us alike and I can remember a particular day, in our yellow pinafores, playing on the kitchen floor and mamma stopping to hug us and talk to us. Now, having raised my children and been a part of my grandchildrens lives, I've often thought about how the world must have been when I was a child, how it is today and how it may be in the future.... and I think my mother must have had similiar thoughts when I was a child.
