Poem 009 - Battle!

By certifiablyinsane

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Dark and dank. Hollows of the earth. Stench so blinding. Sounds you can feel. Heart pounding. Sweat on my brow. So hot I get chills. The beast stands before me. Eyes piercing like knives. Draw my sword. Stand ready to fight. Beating faster. Strength over powering. Stiffening pain. Darkness washing over. Desperation setting in. Slip from his grasp. Run for my life. Shielding the flames. No escape. Exits are blocked. No choices now. One of us must die. Slash! Stab! Defend! Suddenly he's fallen. Defeated the demon. Free at last. Victory is mine. Mind mine own. I have won my soul. Written January 10th, 2002 © on Jan 10 2002 01:47 PM PST   10 • 0
