Cobweb Keys

By Chris Kramer

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Cobweb keys, speak to me To tell me it is time To move ahead, instead Of dying inside my mind With cloth ready, hand steady I clean off the ivory Plug in the amp, its time to vamp Sounds out of every key No hesitate, I won't wait Music will send me far away Into places, familiar spaces Where one finds harmony My fingers fly, I fill the sky For music soothes my soul With C. King, I now sing On a rooftop, from a piano God gave a gift, and I won't drift Back to dust upon the keys I'll play the blues, but hear this news The web is broke ... now I'm freeI used a name of a great artist in this poem --- C. King refers to Carole King who I really enjoy playing --- one of her hits was a tune called "Up On The Roof" - which is one of my favorites --- at any rate, this is my way of dealing with trying to get over being hurt - thank you for dropping in and reading AP friends - you help so much!!!
