Calmate (calm) By Darmok 1/8/02 Be still my beating heart, One word 'twas all it was. Not enough to fill your sails Or launch a ship built for sea. A small word,....yet why Was that word used? An endearment only I have ever pondered Or applied significance too. A word that infused All the joy of my day And sealed each letter With my love. So why, after all these Years does that word appear, So near before my eyes, offering a deep Departure from my resolve and Composure? Fathoms of angst appear In that word. Tempting me deeper That I should go...and perhaps From this leap I would drown, But in what realm or heart, I would know. This word buried in my heart Where no one has yet found, Removed nor replaced, Is all I have of thee. Be still my beating heart, Rest your sails of blue. Standing still in shallow waters, 'Twas never 'just a word', for you. Written January 8th, 2002 © on Jan 08 2002 11:32 AM PST, Darmok    0 • 8
