"Down" By Darmok  8/4/96 Days wear on like tattered clothes, worn broken threads all but consumed. Light fades to gray and so our lives, wear the hidden cloaks of gloom. The warmth of day recedes the pending weight, as sun sets with awesome sight. Darkness crushes the emptied souls, their tattered hearts reveal the night. Love evades the tender ones, hearts of young and old. Loneliness seeps through the growing void, where warmth of day lays victim to cold. Warm me, save the children, fill their hearts with day. Love the tender ones remove their cloak, with sunrise, peel away the gray.Revised, omitted an intro short.  This verse was written a while back and then a short story was placed in front of it to adapt it to specific storyline....it was pointed out there seemed to be a little conflict...so I removed the ss so the verse can stand on its own.  I like it this way too.   -D Written November 16th, 2001 © on Nov 16 2001 02:41 AM PST, Darmok    0 • 11
