Fathers Weep

Fathers Weep by Darmok 11/30 Fathers weep for babies all grown up, left alone are these that fall. Away from arms that held and nourished, away from arms that fled. Fathers weep for bloody beds, child virgins lost in dark ally streets. For lost are these that suffer, lead, suckled on darkness, fixed, but dead. Fathers weep for cracked mirrors, shattered glass used to cut out the numbness left by hearts that can't really pump the fathered blood. Mirrors broken as are these faces that would look for self, and find only their Shattered lives. Fathers weep for sins of your seed, cast on rocky pits into darkness fell. What grows from gardens deep in hells throw, too far from light to ever experience the warmth of love. Fathers weep for songs never heard, hearts without a beat that would share the beauty in a word. Voices that could, should, sing songs of heart, Songs that would make,... a father weep.Children need their fathers. Nothing can replace a fathers love, the security of being held, knowing what 'safe' is. Knowing you're loved. Written November 30th, 2001 © on Dec 02 2001 05:01 AM PST, Darmok    0 • 9
