No End

By Darmok

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

A special poem of different venue. From the show the "Outer limits" : while enroute to a space port destination, trouble arises while in hyperdrive. The crew of the Nepal suddenly drop out of hyperdrive, but not without incident. Their ship is caught in a subspace inversion and they end up in a dimensionless existence where death leaves a permanent biosignature energy force....essentially You...your soul. No death, no passing on, a literal twilight zone existence. A little known place that God seemed to have forgotten about in the awesome expanse of the Cosmos.                       "No end ?....."                       (credit to the Show Outer Limits for the idea)                       I never questioned your faith in God,                               or asked if prayers answered.                       Assurance of a cosmic mind,                               His presence there unquestioned.                       But this! This place of in between,                               dimensionless space of hell.                       No life or death or time is seen,                               forgotten place they tell.                       What god would create such a place,                               where death releases not.                       The soul the spirit, to heavens grace,                               all children’s faith is taught.                       The dead are caught in limbo there,                               an endless captured shell.                       I once believed God could hear,                               the call and despair of hell.                       I never questioned your faith in God,                               all knowing loving friend.                       But what if God doesn’t know we’re here,                               misplaced souls, no end.
