Small Steps

By Darmok

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

I gave a title to this piece of my heart, 'Small Steps' draws me near. From distance place no matter where, small steps will bring me there. Hi! I miss you so. My father, my friend and my parent. :) heehaw. I was a stupid poetry person there. I can't do poetry. So how have ya been?Needless to say, my heart ignited all the works, and I was reminded of who I am. I am my daughter's dad. Allison sent that to me in an email, she didn't see the beauty of her simplicity and truth, I doubted not for an instant that those words were from her heart, and so they pierced mine, the archers mark of love devine. This verse to 'me', are small steps for her, for her voice for her love of poetry....today in my heart she walked for the very first time, using her voice, her love. Her poetry the key that unlocked the doors of all my being, and the tears fell. Daughters do this all the time with just the right smile, but these small steps, the effort to touch me...came way a 'different door', a maturity beyond her years, tho all the same..., I felt the desire behind the words.
