The Smile by Darmok 6/2000 What makes me smile about you, Is that you have always been. Inside me before I was born, You were part of me within. What makes me smile about you, Your incredible smile, your face. You touched my heart the day you were born, You left me speechless, cherry-tomato face. What makes me smile about you, You’ve always wanted more. More love than anyone else, More love than you could store. What makes me smile about you, You forgive the empty space. Where simply I did not fill, Or see the tear upon your face. What makes me smile about you, I know how much you care. You love me with all your heart, I feel the love you share. Let me promise you my love, Let me fill that empty space. Let me tell you what makes me smile, The smile upon your face.Over the last 5 years as being a single father, I've had my eyes pride open. Wide enough to see the emotional waste in my life; the lost time and moments that were lost to missed opportunity. This is for her, for both of us, written simply so she'd understand how glad I am to have her with me, so glad to be able to say I love you every day. For Jill.
