Their Love

"Their Love?" by Darmok 42496 Fading dawn gives way to light, sends sorrows scurrying way, Remember love her parting words, we begged the night to stay. Passion's price of love that's sworn, the debt cannot be paid. Nor love returned in sorrows' place, the promised love was made. It knows your heart instills the pain, it dares to ask for more. Of friend or brothers last, this hungry beast of war. Buried hope inside these graves, of fallen soldier's rest. A prayer to watch over them, till journey home......our best. Remember lover's heart, in love I thought was all. These covered faces beneath the dirt, so many more will fall. "My love", ....What of their love? quieted passions end. Their rest; unfinished song, of lover's quest and friend. The Corps. has made me who I am, to self I will be true. There will be time for search of love, when all the burring is through. The 58 Th. together strong, the "old man" and McQueen. the thousand more that fight this war, no greater love, has seen.I don't want to confuse anyone, this is from an older day. Back when I was facinated with a war television program of the SciFi genre (Space Above and Beyond). Maybe It was a silly thing for me to do, write about the things this show had me feeling, it was only a show....but I think that is when I first started listening to myself...and trying to capture it in verse.
