Through Silent Nights

Through Silent Nights By Darmok I'm going deaf, sometimes I cry, There outside my window in the trees, I should hear bird song, The wind, the crackling of leaves. All that is lost to me already, God's voice seems removed. Sounds slip away from this leaky sieve, Only silence remains unmoved. At least during the day, I see the world in its bluster. I can feel the noise of life, And all the joy I can muster. But in the Silence of the night, When my aide is gone, I feel alone in the dark, Afraid, the silence won. Time to pray and thank God, For the light of day, the stars above. The colors and smells of this silent world, His presence within me, His voice, His Love.   My body may fail me, my health may leave me, Sight and sounds may pass. But I could never leave the love of God, Nor do this without his grasp. I know for certain, I'm not alone, He will never leave me. Within His hands forever held, Through silent nights He guides me.
