To Want, this burn by Darmok 1/2/02 I own my feelings, they are mine. No one may say they are not, nor grade the depth of that which I feel to a staff marked of their own experience, and weigh the measure of my soul in hands that are not mine. I am no fool nor do I cast my lots unto the sea to be consumed for naught. But surely as heaven looks down upon me, and would love me, though never touch my flesh. I find a heart nearer to me than heaven itself, and feel the generous warmth of another souls heart. To desire this heart, to love it in my own way is not folly, in spite of heavens reach or pound of flesh untouched. For my soul has felt more than flesh, and carnal union. I've felt the endearing spirit of love that requires only the heart. It should be enough that my heart has been touched, but I am only human...to want, to see and feel the face of love. To hear the words spoken from lips so devine, 'I love you' ...just once, just one time. This is a companion verse to Jennedin's Poem The Burn. I heard a lot of feeling in her lovely voice and in commenting to her poem I thought to respond in a companion verse in reflection of what I heard her saying..... What is the 'real thing'?...since in reality ...we alone are speakers for our heart and ask no one else for validation of what we feel, live and let live, to each their own, in their own hands will love be measured.
