Echo Of Music

By Deb Benson

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

This is a poem I wrote on Sept 12th 2001 and wanted to post for the 6 month anniversary of the tragedy that struck America The echo of music was stilled When our countrymen were horribly killed The religious fanatics did their dastardly deed With no thought of life-only their greed Wanting show that our borders they could cross No matter the manner-no matter the loss How heavy our hearts, how painful our souls Will our country ever feel safe, ever feel whole We will not allow ourselves to face defeat Our freedom and democracy they cannot unseat The terrorists will be found-justice to be done No more lives lost-we pray-peace will come Please no bombs-bullets or others to be killed The world has had enough When The echo of music was stilledLet us all hope that this will be over soon and peace will come.
