Faded Ghost

By defrage

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

If it haunts me, Then it taunts me, I don't know why, You deplore me. I fade away, I fade away, You don't see me, The days are pale. I know that everything is something to someone, And we're all lost on the paths to fulfillment, But i'm further gone so i asked for directions, I'm so naive - you pointed me to my sadness. I don't want you, You can't touch me, I don't need you, Won't you hold me. It's called love, It's called love, I'm so naive, Won't you hold me. It seems i've been falsely drawn down dimly-lit roads, I've percieved openings in the foggy darkness, But the ghost of clarity has left me more questions, And your wicked dance drains all this optimism. I don't want you, You can't touch me, I don't need you, Won't you hold me. It's called love, It's called love, I'm so naive, Won't you hold me.It's weird looking back on that even though i only wrote it about two months ago. I guess it captures my state of mind at the time. I think i feel slightly more positive about things at the moment. Written February 24th, 2002 © on Feb 23 2002 10:38 PM PST    0 • 1
