I Shall BeThine
By Delilah
As I sit here with my heart in your hands, through the vines I hear from the ticklish ears. For many miles from now, the years will slowly blink me away. The rushing blowing winds howl upon my ears, to hear the whispers, 'how long will the vessels dock by the harbour?' These raging waters rush by my feet, roaring its' cool breathe upon my ears, wielding my fears to look by my side to see if thine feet still keep close by me. Oft to come to the grave to hang this grief that merges from this shaven head, for the warmth doth no more breathe upon my brow. To vastly crumble with the majestic tops, in the rubbles, yet I will stand. Shadows come chase my fears across the valley to thee, and only to thee. The store houses stand empty, and this bag that I carried, now lays empty by my feet, one that carried my feet across the thresholds, to come by the still waters to quench my thirst. A cheery note is sent my way, for soon, I shall behold thine face when the golden sun shines void, yet the clouds of wonder will bring thine feet across the heavenly oceans. To see thine face nearly cannot be contained yet the tides keep rolling in oft to challenge this faith that holds my heart. Soon to hear the sound of the trump of angels from on high the melodious sound to thy coming. 'How long twill before I behold that day?' my weary heart doth cry. Yet, I must haste to my neighbor for any day soon, I shall be thine forever, any day soon. Written February 22nd, 2002 © on Feb 22 2002 01:04 AM PST 10 • 0 • 13
