Brazos

© 1/04/02 Dennis L. Pickering Brazos, I wonder if you’re still Circumnavigating that pill? That you have entered into still. That “block” is an unwelcome shill. That must be let go on its way If Brazos is to seize the day. And begin again to record His most astute and wanted chord. I hope you’re not feeling a pawn Because your words are like the dawn And not unlike the morning sun That does encourage us to run. With ideas we’ve engirdled And consequences we’ve hurtled Over on our forthright approach Which do sometimes encroach. Or maybe you have died and left Poets without your thoughts so deft I haven’t seen you on the chat Although I’ve looked there like the cat That wishes to go unnoticed Where it walks on this fine lotus. Has astuteness just like Brazos Who does not need to feel morose. Just because he’s suffered a “block” Doesn’t mean he’s stuck in that crock. I know that he will progress out. That progression does make us shout. For the joyousness we do know When he again takes up his bow To play on that fiddle of life And help relieve us of some strife.
