© 7/31/2001 Dennis L. Pickering The day to leave is almost here We all will have a welcome cheer Though attitudes are sometimes sheer We get along upon the near. Day that we all share a dinner Makes us all be on the inner Side of our lives as the winner That we show every beginner. Upon the journey of this life We must leave home all of our strife Because strife is not the sole wife Upon the sharp edge of the knife. That we all hold in our defense Even fulfill our recompense To relatives is given pence We must all get off the fence. It is a day that can renew Ideas we harbor that are blue And can undoubtedly change hue And make relative strength anew.
