© 11/22/2001 Dennis L. Pickering Free verse composition is but for Those poets unwilling to implore Their language to enter in your door And help you to rise up from the floor Onto which you have gotten yourself You may be on an out-of-sight shelf That causes you to become a lamb That hunts ideas over the dam The dam that blocks things flowing from you This dam is what can make you feel blue But you only need to change your hue To one not red, green, yellow, but Blue Why into Blue I say you must change? Because Blue is highest on the train That you have chosen to occupy And to consume like a piece of pie Physical life is but a journey You embark on looking for the key That you can occupy and just be Like when you sat on your father’s knee Which may have been a long time ago Probably previous to the show To which you most happily did go And saw the things that were done by “Moe” To the others that were in the script And the circumstance could be a whip Onto which “Moe” could get a firm grip Making him “best” of everyone’s trip Finis Written November 22nd, 2001 © on Nov 22 2001 03:58 PM PST, Dennis Pickering   0 • 10
