Barely Breathing

By Desdemona

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Tip back my neck It will come easier blockages in my airways Lumps in my throat Tears rolling down my face I can't find the air Hyperventilating Panic attacks My eyes becoming big as saucers Fear overcomes my breath Heartbeats increase Muscles tense Where is the air? Where is the freshness? Where is the life in me? You gave me hope You gave me reason Now I am dying inside and out I can't find the breath I can't find the inhaler I can't find the air I can't be with you again You took my breath when we first met You took my breath when you walked away I will always be barely breathing Written June 2nd, 1999 © on Nov 15 2001 09:53 AM PST, Lee Gillilan   18 • 0 • 10
