River of Passion
By duderag
Through the rustling trees I had heard the gushing, the gurgling of water flow With this pure sound I sensed my surrounds would lead me here Without contemplation I bounded forth To explore childlike, an adventure found In a matter of a few springing steps Here I found myself, stunned in awe On the banks of the greatest river I stand Gun barrel blue, but not gun barrel straight Winding up like a snake about to strike And with enormity of power and enormity of speed The water rushed by with an almighty roar I stood so tall, no fear in my mind, no fear in my eye Off with my shoes and off with my clothes Boldly naked, nature and I I would like to have said I dived in so sure But one foot in, two feet in, slowly I crept Closing my eyes to feel its power I fell backwards, arms outstretched Crash! bubbles abound, my head went down Stunned and lost for a moment so long I struggled to surface, God as if I could But struggle I did, not to survive this raging torrent For I will drown in this river of passion To enjoy, enjoy this slow surrender 30/10/00 The pure intensity of passion I feel for her Written October 30th, 2000 © on Jan 19 2002 02:36 PM PST 0 • 8
