The city lights reflected into the rippled river like a thousand stars Shining, shining all at once and with such orchestration As if practiced into perpetuity I took breath slowly, deeply Taking in light, taking in sound as if part of the still night air Now as throughout the night I turned to centre stage The symphony began... Her sweet smile invited the violins to a perfect pitch Her eyes were introduced by the passage of strings Composed of brass, so bold, so blue Yet intricately intertwined With soft and demure notes flowing from flutes I closed my eyes and took my place in the orchestra Trembling I touched her body, each touch, each caress, a single note Played with such hesitancy, yet with so much surety Swept up in the symphony of sound, of colour and passion I kissed her lips, and like a final crescendo Batons raised high and drawn ever so slowly low The kiss like beating drums and crashing cymbals Was brought back to the soft touches of sweet stringed notes In silence now, all I could hear was my beating heart Cheering, cheering, cheering... 08/10/00 About the first date Written October 8th, 2000 © on Jan 19 2002 02:18 PM PST 0 • 8
