You Are...

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

You are my husband, You are my friend, You're always there beside me to lend a helping hand. You are my guardian angel, You are my passionate lover, When I first saw you, I knew there would be no other. You are my teacher, You are my guide, Through whatever life may send, I'll know you'll be by my side. You are my partner, You are my mate, What drew us together? It must have been fate. You are to me what God did send, You are my husband, You are my friend.1996, I wrote this for my husband (well, ex now) shortly after we were married. We are of course no longer married, he has some challenges he needed to face, alone...and although his actions crushed our marriage, there were still good times to be remembered.
